YNPN-NYC
YNPN-NYC Email List

The YNPN-NYC email list helps young nonprofit professionals improve the quality of work in nonprofit organizations. List members are encouraged to post ideas, resources, questions, news, events, jobs, or the like that will facilitate communication across the nonprofit sector. YNPN-NYC does not pre-screen email posts; however we monitor list activity and reserve the right to remove anyone who violates the list rules as described at the bottom of this page.

Rules
Please post with care to ensure that your post provides value and benefit to other YNPN members. In general, posts in regard to nonprofit ideas, resources, questions, news, events, jobs are welcome, while spam, calls to action (to donate or to sign a petition, for instance), and insults are prohibited. More specifically:
  • DO NOT SPAM the lists by sending emails that do not pertain to professional development within the non-profit sector. This includes advertisements, sales pitches or completely off-topic materials.
  • DO NOT SOLICITE ACTIONS such as donations, petition signing, and the like. We all support worthwhile causes, but the list will be unreadable if we all just solicit each other.
  • DO NOT SEND OUT OF OFFICE EMAILS. Set your auto-response to Reply rather than a Reply All if youre going to be out of the office- so that your message goes to only the person that sent the message, rather than everyone on the list (this option is usually the default).
  • DO NOT FLAME LIST MEMBERS by sending emails that are confrontational, hostile, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. Please be respectful of other members and be cautious about your tone.
  • DO NOT ADD YNPN LISTS TO ANY OTHER DISTRIBUTION LISTS. This includes sending a YNPN list name/email to a third party without the persons consent (e.g. if you manage a list that advertises nonprofit consultants, you would be spamming the other members of the list by adding them by default to your list).
As YNPN-NYC does not pre-screen emails, the views expressed in emails do not necessarily reflect the sentiments of YNPN as a whole nor the members of the YNPN Advisory Board.

YNPN reserves the right to remove anyone who, in our sole opinion, abuses the privileges of participation and/or violates list rules.
